Curse of the Dead Gods
As expected, it’s not really my jam. It’s an isometric roguelite action rpg. What if Hades but Slow?
Its key gimmick apart from Souls-like focus on parries and rolls, is that it has an anti-currency in Corruption. Get hit by magic juice? That’s corruption. Clear a room? 20 corruption. Hit 100? Get a curse. Get your 5th curse and start losing health until you die. Beat a boss? Clear one curse to extend your run.
The gameplay is snappy and competent, but I’m terrible at it. Knowing what you should dodge vs parry is inscrutable to me. Perfect dodges might as well not exist because I did two during the tutorial and then never again. I can see what they’re doing, and it’s neat and admirable, it’s just not for me.
