Destiny 2 - Season of the Lost (S15)
A good year, but too long of a year.
The model for seasons is pretty locked in now. New slate of mods each season, new set of weapons, new set of mods, new 6 player activity, new way to focus weapons. And Challenges, Challenges were an outstanding addition to the game, with a few mis-steps from things like “asking us to do two vanguard resets in a season”.
Some of the weapons rolled out this year have been crazy fun, the BXR is great, the reworked Mythoclast is great, Igneous Hammer is great even though I hate handcannons, Chroma Rush is hands down my favorite new AR, and pretty much all the returning guns are fantastic too.
The game is in a really great place right now, and I think it’s poised to have an even better Year 5. New weapon type, reworked light subclasses, new raid or dungeon every season, and hopefully we stick to normal length seasons this time.
Length of the last season is really the only complaint I have thinking back over the past game-year. It was just ludicrously too long. Yes the 30th Anniversary stuff was great, but it couldn’t carry it for this many more months. I also think they goofed introducing Witch Queen stuff concurrent with the launch of the Forever Season. It meant there was no speculation, we knew how it was going to end literally the same day the Forever Season launched. Just . . super unfortunate.
So . . . roll on Year 5!
