Tunic was finally put out as one of Microsoft’s E3 demos, and it’s exactly what I expected: super stylish game deeply inspired by The Legend of Zelda. It’s taking a “foreign land” approach to the game super deep, to the point that most of the menus and guidance in the game is in a created language. Descriptions, the menu, help text, dialog boxes, all in squiggles.

Combat feels a bit sluggish compared to a Zelda game, but it feels intentional, deliberate. You have to take your time to figure out how you’re going to block / strike to not get merc’ed immediately. No idea when it comes out, but I’m immensely interested.
